Growing Down

WELL!
Prashant said that he has never heard of "GROWING DOWN"; neither did I till I actually started to grow down...or atleast thought about doing it. There are times in life when you have to make decisions which you wouldn't have made if everything was the way as you wanted it to be. Thats when you decide to bypass a few "not so important" things to sustain life and move on to the so called " more important" things. Sometimes you are just not capable/confident enough to do those things. So, thus you are at a stage where you do what is considered as things "by-the-book". Doing everything as it is said in the book.

Unfortunately when you are doing these things by-the-book, time does not stop, and you grow up - in age. When you wake up and see around you, you see people staring at you as if you are a MORON, ALIEN, out of this world, or whatever else. As if saying that 'Idiot. what the hell were you sleeping all the time for, see we had so much fun in the night', And would reply ' I was sleeping because by-the-book it is beneficial for your health to sleep at night and have fun during the day, and moreover, night made for sleeping not having fun'. Am I wrong - NO. I am perfectly right. So they say "OK! Go back to sleep, 'cause its still not morning yet." But you dont wana sleep anymore.

So catching up on the night's activities, doing things which are not done so much by-the-book is what I call................

................GROWING DOWN.

Unfortunately, I have to grow down alone. So tomorrow I am going to Scotland for four days, to catch up on my growing down. Just pray that the weather is good and it doesn't rain all the time, some times is OK, but not all the times. So that I can take some pictures with my phone and shoot some video with my camcorder.

....rowing regatta CONTINUED.....

➻➻Task Number Two➻➻☟
This was an interesting game. we had 20 mins in total, same as the earlier one. In which we had to read the objective, plan the task and execute it. And the task was: One team member will be a shepherd and the rest will be sheep (meeeemeee...). All shepherd has to do is to get all the sheep in the herd inside a square by onlly using a whistle. SO WHATS THE BIG DEAL?
the deal is that all the sheep are blind folded and spread out on the plain. We used most of the time planning and achieved the goal in such a short time that it surprised even us. I am sure it does not sound at all interesting for the readers but was definately very very interesting for me to actually do.

Task No. Three.............

mmmmmm........I dont want to write about it any more........may the excitment has faded off now. Anyway I'll just say that it was a very welcome break from the hectic day to day life.

Rowing Regatta

Today was one day in last three and half years that I went out on some actual exercise with the staff of my hotel. It was called "Rowing Regatta". It was arranged by the HR team as a fun day with some new things to learn, and team building ...... and to let us know our colleagues better. And I must say it was really good.

I enjoyed it.

We went to ETON Rowing College. It is the same place where the Rowing World Cup in august 2006 And Olympics in 2012 are going to take place. So half of the total hotel staff went today and the rest are going to go tomorrow. So as it goes, we all assemled at our hotel at 7 in the morning......had breakfast....and boarded the coaches to ETON in Dorney, WINDSOR.
It is in country side and a beautiful place.

We were divided into different teams. first half of the day we were supposed to do land related activities and second half we were going to do the water related activities. Here goes the details of the activities in chronological order:

~➻➻FIRST TASK~
We were given given two logs, two elastic bands, a bucket full of Cleaning scrub, two more buckets and two ropes....and we were supposed to make a catapult with the provided stuff in eight minutes and then throw the wet sponge through this catapult to the finish line where my team members will try and catch them. more you catch more points you get. since non of us had made a catapult in our life so after much discussion we ended up with a crap catapult (it seemed to be the best thing at that moment though). Consequence: we couldn't even throw the sponge to the required length. all we could catch were 9. So we got 9 points for this one. There were more tasks waiting for us ahead, it was going to be an exciting day.

Right now, I am really really tired and have a long day at work tomorrow as we are only four people in my dept. tomorrow because rest will be in regatta. Therefore I am going to sleep and continue this blog on sunday when i am off and probably will have more photos of the event.

Till then.........................................

After effects of Shahrukh

"After efeects of Shahrukh". That poor guy's name is going to be maligned even when whatever happened today had nothing to do with him. He is not involved in any of it at all. So what is this fuss all about?
Nothing really. ;) HAHAHA.
What happened today is that, after working till half one yesterday for the "Shahrukh event" and hence forth practically not having even a single day off this week; as a result I was obviously tired. I reached home at around 2:30 and then wen tto bed at 3:00 a.m.
CONSEQUENCE:
Next morning i overslept. First time ever I was already late for work when i woke up. I was supposed to be at work at 8:00 a.m. whereas I was still in my bed at 8:50. So I reached at work two hours later than i was supposed to start.

First time in my life. Thats what happens when you break the rules.

Adios.

Busy but fruitful day......guess how.

This was a very busy week with regards to banqueting functions as well as cafe. Hence I ended up with just one day off this week. (One day off?)Nothing new for you guys back home; but for me its a big thing now after having two days off for last thre and half years. So I had just one day off.... and guess what..... I got an offer to do some casual work for a person I know from th e past and have worked for him a few times. So there goes my only day off I had this week. Anyway it was kind of worth it..

would you like to know why? if the answer is yes then read further otherwise get lost.

It was worth because this guy told me that the function i m going to work is being organized by ICICI Bank and since its Brand Ambassador is Shahrukh Khan, he is going to perform there as well. I said well may be I'll get a chance to see Shahrukh Khan, so why not get paid to see celebrity, instead of paying for it.
Everythign was going well all the food was there, all the kitchens were set. All i had to do was to take some stuff to the kitchen downstairs to the floor where he was supposed to perform. so i took the food to the kitchen on this floor and was waiting for the lift to go back up.
Lift came and there were quite a few peopple in it. I asked them if the lift was going up or down, nobody answered. Wierd.
Instead they walked out of the lift, and the last person walk out was Sharukh Khan, not even a meter from me. He looked at me and then looked away as if he doesn't know me. The truth is he actually doesn't know me so it was quite natural.

I was happy that working here was a success. Atleast i got to see shahrukh.

Tihsn photo is of the stage where he was performing at the time of this shoot, but because of the dark surroundings and very bright spot lights and the distance of myself from the stage , it is not at all clear. but atleast its here.

So when in the evening when he was supposed to perform, all the chef stoped working and went to see Shahrukh Khan. But he was nowhere to be seen. and it was geting close to open the stall in the banquet so i went to call all the chefs back. They were all reluctant to come back as they hadnt seen him yet, But still started moving.................you wouldnt believe it....................we were all waiting for the lift... lift opens and there is Shahrukh again, this time only with his two hefty big gigantic bodygaurds. Involuntarily, suddenly I blabbered that" arey jise dekhne aaye hain wo to yahan hai".
He heard that and smiled a bit and then walked into the stage.

I was happy again. watching Shahrukh Khan in the lift, just a feet away from you; I think, is much better than watching him on the stage from tens of feet away and just as if watching a movie.

Another Day in Good Old England

Well this is a kind of continuation to the previous post. today was the hottest 12th June in Engalnd's history (31 Degrees C). Hence one more walk in dear Hyde Park. After a pint with with my boss and colleague I headed home but since in england the sun doesnt go down till 9 (in Summers) in the evening, therefore it was still bright as afternoon and hot as well. So i changed my direction towards Hyde Park instead of Bus Stand. I knew what i was going to view while on my half an hour walk through the park (its always same as last blog, but its always beautiful just as the last blog).

I had no intentions of taking any photos....... BUT...... only yesterday i have found some very good feature in my phone which had no idea about till now that i had it in my phone (I am proud owner of this phone for around a year now). Well that feature is.....panoramic photography. YES DUDE. Panorama in phone. Cool, eney?

So that compelled me atlast to take some photos. I shot them, not many just two or three...as somehow for last one year or so I am off photography, but every now and then this "keeda" wakes up and i have to feed it, Even if its with my phone.
So here are the photos i shot in Hyde park.........

And check out time on the photos and the sunlight and you will have an idea how it feels here at eight in the night. Yes it was quarter to eight in the night when I shot these photos. :)

These are the photos of the same serpentine I mentioned in the earlier blog.

One Fine Day

Today is one the very few and very Sunny days that one can see in england. It was a beautiful day, full of sun shine and light. all you sitting in india must eb wondering what am I talking about......Sun?.... and beautiful?.........YES. "Sunnier the better". Thats what is called a lovely day here. A day with cold wind and clouds here is as common as a sunny day with 45 degrees in india.

Well, anyway it was a beautiful day and I was working an early shift, that means I finish at six or half six latest.
NICE & EARLY :)
Still lots of sunshine to see, heheeeeee:). Was I happy...... Oh yeeeaah :))

Therefore i decided to do my yearly deed (yearly because this these actions take place only once or twice a year). And that would be walking through the HYDE PARK from Knightsbridge all the way to Notting Hill Gate, where I would catch my bus Home.

The moment i entered the Hyde Park, wow, it was nothing less than heaven. A nice breeze, sunlight, and loads of half naked people( yes, that includes women. What do u expect? it is england) A sunny day is an open invitation to remove ur clothes and lie down for every one ( i mean every one to see, first of all for SUN).

So there I was strolling in the Hyde Park. The number of activities you can see there, in one bright beautiful day, is something that you wont even see in many days, if you go out looking for them one by one. So rarely have i seen that many poeple in one place. children playing games. Old people sitting on the chairs provided, looking after (or just looking at) the kids. Some fitness freaks running all over the place with their stupid iPods/MP3 players tucked in the holes provided in their ears and listening to GOD KNOWS WHATTTTTT.

In the serpentine, there were paddle boats floating, with couples paddling them to nowhere, just loving each other and the moments together in this ONE FINE DAY.

As I walk along the serpentine, I see this lot of some young guys enjoying swimming in it.ALL HAPPY ae?
I walk past the PRINCESS DIANA MEMORIAL FOUNTAIN, still watching and enjoying the view and the feeling inside me. I mix of happiness and sadness, as such a beautiful day is ought to make you feel happy, though it does bring back those moments of nostalgia from different times in past.

It seldom happens that i am so close to grass and natural habitat, in the midst of nature. it all reminds me of the times when i used to play with my friends on the trees, in the pits........playing football in school ....or just walking in the stadium at five in the morning .

On the other side of the lake(serpentine) many people on their skates are showing off tricks I can't imagine doing even in my dreams. Someones streo system is playing on full volume and a nigga brother( no offence meant just a slang) is dancing on his head and again showing the tricks I cant imagine.
Further down two young men are flying kites ( well these are not the paperkites i m used to seeing on every rooftop, these are the once like parachute which often lifted the flyers off the ground). very nearby were two young girls giggling and trying to get the flyers' attention.

Ducks, pegeons, swans, Dogs and many more swimming in the lake. I wanted to remove remove my shoes and walk on the grass barefoot but my wristwatch told me "NO". So, unwillingly i kept walking, soaking up the scenery of footballers; beautifull girls in the arms of their boyfriends. AHHH; ALAS!

HAHAHAHA. Kya karein koi hamari taraf dekhta hi nahin. ab ka batayein BHAIYA humra mukhda hi itna khoobsurat hai ki kisi ki nigaah thaiharti hi nahi, phisal jaati hai.
KHAIR, isi tarah chalte chalte hum park paar kar gaye aur pahunch gaye bus stand. Aaj ki kahani yahin khatm.
Khuda haafiz
